TPIv 5880 > Insulation Monitoring Device

IEC/EN 61557 | IT Systems (AC) | 0–550 V | 10 Hz–10 kHz | ATEX Zone 2 | Designed and manufactured in France since 1987

The TPIv 5880 insulation monitoring device is an IMD compliant with standard IEC/EN 61557, designed for continuous monitoring of the insulation resistance of unearthed AC networks (IT system), single-phase or three-phase, from 0 to 550 V. Operational monitoring even when the network is de-energised. 3 kV galvanic isolation between the measuring circuit, the auxiliary supply and the output contacts.

Why choose this insulation monitoring device?

De-energised monitoring — monitors insulation even when the network is switched off, ideal for generators and standby motors before start-up.

Universal power supply — 20–270 Vac / 20–300 Vdc, compatible with virtually all switchboard auxiliary voltages. No additional transformer required.

Fail-safe design — contacts de-energised on fault (IEC 61557 compliant). Energise-to-trip version (TPIv 5880 N) available on request.

Fast response — response time < 1.3 s. Measuring voltage 15 V DC with current < 0.1 mA, no disturbance to the monitored network.

Compact and robust — 22.7 mm DIN rail, IP20, -20 to +60°C, pluggable connectors, ATEX Zone 2 certified for enclosures in hazardous areas.

Applications: generators, safety power supplies, pumping stations, industrial boiler rooms, industrial IT system networks.

Need a pre-alarm?

For applications requiring early detection of insulation degradation, the TPIv 5882 insulation monitoring device adds a second pre-alarm threshold (RW adjustable from 10 kΩ to 5 MΩ) and programmable relays via switch C1. It is particularly suited to monitoring standby motors and de-energised pumps.
